Contest Rules Central Iowa Camera Club Marshalltown, Iowa General Conditions Only members of the CICC may compete in its contests. Competition will be separate for Novice, Intermediate, and Advanced Classes of photographers. Entrants must compete in the same class in all categories (B/W Prints, Color Prints, 2x2 Slides, 2 ¼ Slides and Digital Slides). Film and Digital prints (both Color and BW) will compete together in each category. The class for a member to enter shall be decided by the member so as to challenge themselves in competition with other members of similar abilities. Members may advance themselves to a higher class during the year. Members may not, however, change to a lower class until the following year. Two (2) entries may be submitted in each category by each entrant. Only those subjects which fit the particular theme for that contest may compete (except in open contests where there is not a theme). The total number of entries is limited to five (5) per member for each contest. Prior to judging, contest entries will not be sorted by class and judges shall not be informed of the class of any entry. After judging, contest entries will be sorted by class, and prizes shall be awarded for the highest scores earned in each class as follows: a. Awards will be presented for First, Second, and Third places. b. Awards will be presented in each of the categories (B/W Prints, Color Prints, 2x2 Slides, 2 ¼ Slides, and Digital Slides) for each of the classes (Novice, Intermediate, Advanced) included in that contest. c. Photographer of the Year awards will be presented to the entrants who accumulate the most entry points in each of the categories, and to the single entrant who accumulates the most entry points in all categories for the year. Any entry receiving a CICC award may not be re-entered in later club contests. A judge entered in the same contest he or she is judging shall not vote for his or her entry.
